Introduction
Jason Vosu is a senior UX leader with deep, hands-on experience across the digital landscape. He brings extensive UX, UI, and research expertise, including usability studies, wireframes, prototypes, and end-to-end user flows. Jason has
delivered both external and internal web and app experiences, contributing across BA, UX, UI, requirements gathering and development. He is a proven leader and people manager with strong creative insight and technical capabilities.
Discovery
No matter what shape the solution will ultimately take (e.g., Web site, Mobile app), it is important to work with the product team, engineers and end users to fully understand the problem. Jason's experience includes assessing business needs, identifying
target audiences, understanding the technology that will be used, defining overall scope, determining budget, creating a list of key stakeholders and building out initial timing.
Analysis
After working with product to define business needs and parameters, it is important to take as much time as possible to understand all the requirements. Jason's role includes working with product, business and users on clarifications, reviews, and presenting a set of solutions.
One practice that Jason is adamant about is to measure twice and cut once before irreversible and costly action takes place.
Requirements
There are usually two sets of requirements, high-level and detailed. Jason has experience scoping and writing both. High-level requirements are vetted with business and are the baseline for the start of product development (wireframes, creative and user flows). A high-level example
is the ability for a user to add a product to a shopping cart. A detailed example is the capturing all of the data points (e.g., product name, price, stock #, etc.).
UX / Usability
User experience is critical to product success. If a user does not know where to go next, they may abandon the task. Today, we build custom experiences for different devices (e.g., mobile phones and tablets). This could
be through responsive design or mobile apps. Jason has a strong background in building intuitive and annotated UX prototypes (using tools like Axure, Sketch and Figma) that follow best practices, follow DPLs and are tested with end users in structured or informal usability sessions.
Creative Design
Once the user flow is defined, it is time to build out creative UI design patterns and bring the product visually to life. Jason's experience as a graphic designer, production artist and creative director allows him to quickly convert a UX prototype into a
working mockup of the full experience that can be shared with users, product partners and engineers.
Development
As detailed specs and front-end requirements are finalized, production files are generated (images, videos, etc.). Programming will start coding the experience in a development environment. Jason's programming experience (Cold Fusion, HTML/CSS,
CMS) allows him to work closely with analysts and programmers around the globe (US, India, Latin America) to make sure requirements are properly understood and implemented.
Testing
QA testing is done initially by programming on the development servers, and then by the QA team in a staging environment. The client will be able to test the experience once it has passed internal QA. Jason's background in quality assurance testing includes creating user stories managing QA teams and conducting hands-on testing across a broad spectrum of browsers and devices.
Launch
Depending on the product, the launch can be simple or require several days and safety protocols to ensure a successful delivery. Planning ahead for down time is critical. A backup plan (including full rollback) is necessary for unforeseen problems.
Jason has experience managing the launch of over 100 small and large scale applications for several Fortune 500 companies including Optum, UHC, Quest and 3M.
